"THE GAME STORY" written by an unknown assistant
The Bombers were well-drilled and worked well as a team. The Mid-Town
team was vice-versa.
However, the Monsters played it to the hilt and, for one man's
opinion, hit harder than the Bombers.
Monsters Ron Berrier and Duian McClain made many savage tackles.
However, Mid Town's full-
back/linebacker Bill Mohr played out of this world, blocking and
tackling. You could hear Bill hit up
at Monument Square. Mid Town was continually sucked out of position
and missed quite a few easy
tackles. Bomber QB, Bob Henry, is 500 percent improved over last
year. He runs mainly rollout-
keeps left or right and is now powerful and fast enough to make
it go for him. It takes good hard
tackles to bring him down. On these keep's, Henry's three "cronies"
in the backfield were very good
at getting out in front of him to block. In this respect they are
second only to Strodes Mills, who of all
teams I've seen are the league's best blocking backs. If the Bombers
have a weakness it has to be their
defensive secondary. Poor pursuit and coverage of receivers. Midtown
waited until it was 27-0 before
they started to throw and sweep the ends. From then on the Bombers
had all the action they could
handle. Four key Midtowners were absent. The best team certainly
won. Well coached outfit-the Bombers.
